TechSoup.org Offers Discount Computers for Nonprofits
If you’re a nonprofit with a pressing need for new hardware, then get thee over to TechSoup.org, if you aren’t there already. TechSoup’s Refurbished Computer Initiative gives nonprofits an opportunity to purchase refurbished computer systems at a discounted price. In order to qualify, you must be a legitimate 501 (c)(3) organization or public library, and you must register online with TechSoup.
TechSoup announced just this week that they’re now offering Condition B (fully-operational, with some cosmetic imperfections) desktop and laptop PCs, in addition to their regular offerings of Condition A products. This increases their inventory of affordable, refurbished computers, in response to the high demand for low-cost hardware. Times being what they are, we know there are plenty of nonprofits who will pounce at the opportunity to acquire a fully functional HP C2D Windows XP Notebook, including Microsoft Office 2007 Basic and a 90-day warranty, for a mere $291 administration fee.
TechSoup also has an active and lively discussion forum for nonprofits to vet their questions about IT, technology products, and tech support. Hosts/moderators are extremely patient and supportive of participants at all knowledge-levels, so go ahead and ask. No need to be intimidated if you’re a newbie or a technophobe.
