About us
FirstWood is one of the leading companies in the middle east in Block Board and veneer production.
We are working with new, highly dehydrated wood (8% : 12% dehydration), and using the most powerful and technological machines and tools to manufacture premium products with good prices.
FirstWood produce its own veneer by importing wood logs (Oak, Beech, Ash, Mahogany and poplar) to control the quality and the thickness of the veneer to produce good and high quality product in order to compete with it in the local and the international markets.
We provide a guarantee for all our products even after it has been processed and painted to maintain a high level of credibility to our customers.
Our History
1993
The history of first wood narrates a manufacturing tradition devoted to excellence , and the story of Hewela Family starting with Mohamed Hewela who founded the company in 1998 Hewela began as a workshop of a wood works in 1983 . Starting produce blockboard began in 1993 in Damietta city and rapidly become an industrial leader in the production of plywood , blockboard panels
1998
This breakthrough began in the 1998 with the launch of Hewela factory , the first blockboard factory in New Damietta with this lunching was the first blockboard export
2008
From 2008 to 2012 Hewela worked on many researches and installed automated systems production equipment
2010
In 2010 firstwood install veneer slicing machine
2015
And By 2015 we were there as FIRST WOOD company by established a new plant for veneer production line with 5500m2 which is the biggest in Egypt by importing natural poplar logs and peel it into thick veneer sheets for many purpose to provide our blockboard factory with the veneer as a raw material To sell it to the local market as a product item
2016
In 2016 were first import for American Red Oak log
2018
Then By 2018 FIRST WOOD established the biggest factory in Egypt for plywood panels by importing Birch logs
2021
In 2021 and although the struggle time of Covied19 we have an exclusive partnership with Resopal a Wilsonart company for High pressure laminate and providing our client with different materials of HPL variety of new texture and more thickness By the end of 2021 our huge launching of 6 branch of Firstwood point of sale in a different locations
